Herbert F. Knolhoff

January 7, 1924 - January 28, 2009

Herbert Fred Knolhoff, 85, of Centralia, formerly of Carlyle, passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2009, at Centralia Friendship House in Centralia.

He was born on January 7, 1924, in Hoffman, a son of Martin and Lydia (Buchholz) Knolhoff. He married Edna Schoerder on April 10, 1948, in Centralia, and she survives in Centralia.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his four sons, Delbert Knolhoff and wife Judy of Elyria, Ohio, Randall Knolhoff of Centralia; Leland Knolhoff and wife Debbie of Hoffman and Verlin Knolhoff and wife Rita of Sandoval; two daughters, Lois Carmickle of Hoffman and Sara Knolhoff of Centralia; one brother, Lawrence Knolhoff and wife Melba of Hoffman; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son Mark A. Knolhoff; and his stepmother, Clara Knolhoff.

Mr. Knolhoff was a farmer and lived most of his life in Carlyle and lived the last eight years in Centralia. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoffman and the National Farmers Organization. He liked to travel with his family and he loved to spend time with his grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Saturday, January 31, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoffman with Pastor Stephen Krenz officiating.

Burial followed in the Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery in Hoffman.

Styninger-Pacey Funeral Home in Centralia handled the arrangements.
