Betty L. Bauman

October 14, 1926 - February 1, 2009

Betty L. Bauman, 82, of Centralia, entered into rest on Sunday, February 1, 2009, at Friendship Manor Nursing Home in Nashville.

She was born on October 14, 1926, in Kansas City, Mo., a daughter of William and Eunice (Peeples) Thompson. She married Dwain H. Bauman and he preceded her in death on March 7, 1997.

Mrs. Bauman is survived by a grandson, C. J. Pigg and wife Heather of Centralia; three greatgrandchildren, Searra, Laci and Daci Pigg; and a sister, Mary Ackmann and husband Edward of Carlyle.

In addition to her husband Dwain, she was preceded in death by five children, Betty White, Charles E. Pigg, John W. Pigg, Janet Pigg and Carolyn Pigg.

Mrs. Bauman was a certified nurse's assistant and enjoyed volunteering as a foster grandparent at the Warren G. Murray Developmental Center in Centralia.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 4, at Zieren Day Funeral Home in Carlyle.

Interment will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Mo.
