Jerry Lampe, 54, of Aviston, died Tuesday, January 6, 2009, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.
He was born July 23, 1954, in Breese son of Alphonse G. and Helen A. (Venhaus) Lampe. He married Sharon "Sam" Netemeyer on April 5, 1986, in Albers and she survives in Aviston.
In addition to his wife, Jerry is survived by his children, Brett Lampe and Katelyn Lampe both of Aviston; three brothers, Jack (Becky) Lampe of Algonquin, Jim (Donna) Lampe of Aviston and Joseph (special friend Marilyn Holthaus) Lampe of Aviston; one sister, Judy (Richard) Becker of Highland; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Donald "Duck' & Shirley Netemeyer of Albers, Dan Netemeyer of Demmitt, Texas, Margaret and Leonard Cockerill of San Antonio, Texas, Barbara Hollenkamp of Aviston, Kenneth "Fritz" and Beth Netemeyer of Beaver Prairie, and Nancy Lee Netemeyer of Vinton, Iowa.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Thomas R. Netemeyer and Mark Hollenkamp; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Alvin G. and Rita L. Netemeyer.
He was an aircraft mechanic for TWA and American Airlines and for Boeing Aircraft Co. in St. Louis, Mo. He was also a mechanic for Cope Marine in O'Fallon, Carl's 4 Wheel Drive in Bartelso and he farmed the family farm in Aviston. He was a member of St. Francis Parish in Aviston, the Heartland Polar Riders Snowmobile Club, Clinton County Farm Bureau, the Machinist Union in St. Louis, Mo. and the Farm Heritage Museum in Greenville. He enjoyed snowmobiling, boating, camping and antique tractors. He was a lifelong Mr. Fixit and also accompanied Sam on her many horse trips.
A funeral mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 10, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Aviston with Rev. Dan Friedman officiating.
Burial followed at St. Francis Cemetery in Aviston.
Hempen Funeral Home in Breese handled the arrangements.
