Margaret Herzog

Margaret "Marge" Herzog, 87, of Carlyle, died on Wednesday, December 3, 2008, at the Carlyle Healthcare Center.

She was born in Bartelso, on January 29, 1921, a daughter of Bernard and Anna (Trame) Meyer. She married Lorenz "Larry" Herzog on August 7, 1951, in Carlyle and he preceded her in death on March 22, 1995.

She is survived by a daughter, Madalyn Davis and husband Ted of Bloomington; a son, Alan Herzog and wife Mary Ann of Dayton, Ohio; two grandchildren, Meredith and Alexis Herzog; a brother, Dominic Meyer and wife Rita of Collinsville, and a sister-inlaw, Mary "Sis" Meyer of Carlyle.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brother, August, Alphonse, Larry and Vince Meyer.

She had worked at Wee Walker Shoe in Carlyle and was a member of St. Mary's Church and the Clinton County Historical Society.

Funeral services were conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 6, at Zieren Day Funeral Home in Carlyle with Fr. George Mauck officiating.

Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Zieren Day Funeral Home in Carlyle handled the arrangements.
