Ralph P. Schroer, 67, of Carlyle died Tuesday, December 16, 2008, at Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis.

Born January 19, 1941, he was the son of Joseph and Leona (Hoh) Schroer and they preceded him in death.

He is survived by two daughters, Rita M. Stahl and husband Dennis of Trenton, Texas and Ruth A. Lewis and husband James of Ravenna, Texas; two sons, Jerry Lee Stanley and wife Marta of Jacksonville, Fla. and Kenneth P. Schroer and wife Kim of Middleburg, Fla.; six grandchildren; and two sisters, Margaret Loepker of Belleville and Irene Schutz and husband Kenneth of Breese.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Olivia Jackson; and two brothers, Raymond and Richard Schroer.

He was of the Catholic faith and a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 20, at St. Mary's Church in Carlyle with Father George Mauck officiating.

Burial will follow with military honors in the St. Mary's Cemetery in Carlyle.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, December 19, from 4 to 7 p.m. and Saturday, December 20 from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the Zieren Day Funeral Home in Carlyle which is handling the arrangements.
