Marilyn E. Beckemeyer

Marilyn E. Beckemeyer, 82, died on Thursday, November 20, 2008, at her residence in Carlyle.

She was born in New Minden, on May 30, 1926, a daughter of Carl E. and Lydia C. (Hanenberger) Hoffman. She married Calvin Beckemeyer on October 26, 1946, in Carlyle and he preceded her in death on February 15, 1972.

She was a retired secretary for Madden Well Services in Carlyle. She was a member of the Immanuel United Church of Christ in Carlyle, a member of the Womens' Guild and had held numerous offices at the church.

She is survived by a daughter, Dawn Boudouris of Carlyle; a granddaughter, Paige Boudouris of Carlyle; a brother, Kenneth Hoffman and wife Ruby of Carlyle; a niece, Nancy Boeker and husband Donald of Carlyle; a sister-in-law, Jennye Hoffman; her nephews, Brad (Nancy) Hoffman, Craig (Kandy) Hoffman, and a niece, Heather Hoffman, all of Carlyle; brothers and sisters-in-law, Herbert (Ruth) Beckemeyer of Pontiac, Robert Beckemeyer (friend Shirley Jondro), Loretta (Elmer "Bud") Dorries, Ruby Beckemeyer, and JoAgnes Beckemeyer, all of Carlyle; and numerous great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Carla Beckemeyer on September 26, 1966; a brother, Charles Hoffman, and in-laws, Clinton Beckemeyer and wife Mary Ann, Wayne Beckemeyer, Geneva Beckemeyer, Wilma Beckemeyer and Alvin Beckemeyer.

Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 22, at Zieren Day Funeral Home in Carlyle.

Burial followed in the Carlyle Cemetery.

Zieren Day Funeral Home in Carlyle handled the arrangements.
