Marcella C. Rascher

Marcella C. Rascher, 88, of Breese, died Monday, November 3, 2008, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Breese.

She was born May 4, 1920, in Breese, to Conrad and Mary (Steinmann) Korte and they preceded her in death. She married Aloysius Rascher on November 26, 1953, at St. Augustine Church in Breese and he survives in Breese.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Father Joseph Rancher of Caseyville; a daughter, Mary Rascher of Rantoul; a brother, Leo Korte of Breese; a brother-in-law, Leo (Bertille) Rasher of Middlesex, N.J.; and a sister-in-law, Celestine Emmerich of Salisbury, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Eugene and Alvin Korte; a brother-in-law, Harold Emmerich; sisters-in-law, Edna Korte, Adele Korte, Sr. Bertille Rancher CPPS, and Sr. Mary Fulgence Rascher CPPS.

She was a retired clerk from the Dime Store in Breese and a clerk at Baulk and Stuever Shoe Store in Breese. She was a member of St. Dominic Church and St. Ann Sodality in Breese, St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary, Breese Senior Citizens and past volunteer with the American Lung Association.

A funeral mass of Christian burial will be held Friday, November 7, at 11 a.m. at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese with Father Joseph Rascher and Father Patrick Peter officiating.

Burial will follow at St. Dominic-St. Augustine Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 6 from 4 to 8 p.m. and Friday, November 7 from 8 to 10:45 a.m. at the Moss Funeral Home in Breese.
