Thelma F. Matney

Thelma F. Matney, 95, of Carlyle, died Tues., June 17, 2008, at the Carlyle Healthcare Center in Carlyle.

She was born on September 2, 1912, in Carmi, daughter of George and Louetta (Cameron) Thompson. She married Ernest Matney on April 9,

1949, in Pulaski County, Ark., aid he preceded her in death in 1969.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.

Mrs. Matney and her late husband worked for T & L Construction Company in Centralia from 1949 to 1953, and later for Mohawk Construction Company in Carmi, from 1954 to 1969. She had resided in Carlyle since 1970. She was also of the Methodist faith.

Private interment was held at Dawn of Ages Cemetery in Carmi.

Frerker Funeral Home in Carlyle handled the arrangements.
