Edmund Brichler, 73

Retired school teacher Edmund F. Brichler died at Carlyle Healthcare Center on Dec. 23rd, 1998. He was 73 years old.

Born in Belleville on July 13th, 1925, he was a son of Edmund A. and Ruth Renner Brichler. On April 25th, 1953, in Brussels, he married Janet Pohlman and she survives in Trenton.

Other survivors are two sons, Brian Brichler of Aviston and David Brichler of Daytona, Fla.,; three daughters, Julia Woodul of Grand Forks Air Force Base, N. D., Annette Burroughs of Highland and Barbara Sommers of Dallas; 10 grandchildren; one brother, William Brichler of Belleville and one sister, Rose Mary O'Brien of Belleville.

A son, Edmund F. Brichler, Jr., preceded him in death.

Mr. Brichler had been a teacher at Central High School in Breese for 37 years. After retiring, he worked for the Army Corps of Engineers in Carlyle for 17 years.

He was a member of St. Mary's Church in Trenton and Retired Illinois Teachers Association.

In keeping with his wishes, Mr. Brichler's body was donated to Washington University School of Medicine. A memorial mass will be held at a later date.

The Moss Funeral Home in Trenton was in charge of arrangements.
