Fern E. Hester

April 30, 1914 - August 19, 2008

Fern E. Hester, 94, of rural Sandoval, died on Tuesday, August 19, 2008, at her home.

She was born on April 30, 1914, in Centralia, the daughter of Charles and Lena (Hoffman) Troutt. She married Orvil M. Hester on December 7, 1932, in Shattuc and he preceded her in death on April 6, 1992.

Survivors include a son, Leroy (Nancy) Hester of rural Sandoval; daughters, Mata (Virgil) Motsinger of Harrisburg and Pat (Carl) Heinrich of Centralia; a brother, Dean Troutt of Sandoval; 10 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Bob Hintz; a brother, Lester Troutt; and a grandson, Terry Hintz.

She grew up and lived in the rural Sandoval area. She worked at Dobbs Bargin Store in Centralia as a clerk for 10 years and Taylor Maid Restaurant in Sandoval for 12 years as a cook. She was a member of the Sandoval United Methodist Church and Senior Citizen Club. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, gardening, growing flowers and cooking.

Visitation will be held Thursday, August 21, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Day Funeral Home in Sandoval and on Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. from the Day Funeral Home in Sandoval with Rev. Clayton Coffey officiating.

Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery.
