John V. Ozella, 86
John V. Ozella, 86, of St. Rose died Monday, March 22nd, 2004, at Caring First Nursing Home in Breese.
He was born on July 23rd, 1917, in Braceville, the son of Anton and Letigia Bollatto Ozella, and they preceded him in death. On September 26th, 1950, at St. Rose Church, he married Henrietta "Yettie" VonHatten, and she preceded him in death on July 15th, 2001.
Surviving are a son, John Ozella of Hollywood, Calif.; a daughter, Jeanne Sackett of St. Rose, and two grandsons.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Mike and Louis Ozella.
Mr. Ozella was a retired budget officer from Scott Air Force Base. He was a founding member and played trumpet for the Modernaires Band and an army/air force veteran of WWII.
He was a member of St. Rose Church and Men's Sodality, Breese American Legion Post 252, Eighth Fighter Control Squadron and the Breese Knights of Columbus Council --2869.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 27th, at 10 a.m. at St. Rose Catholic Church, with Fr. Edward Schaefer officiating.
Interment will follow in St. Rose Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Friday, March 26th, from 4 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday, March 27th, from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at the Moss Funeral Home in Breese.
The Breese Knights of Columbus will pray the rosary at 7:00 p.m. The Breese American Legion will hold services at 7:30 p.m. both on Friday at the funeral home.
