Celia E. Schrage, 95

Celia E. Schrage, 95, of St. Rose died Tuesday, Jan. 13th, 2004, at Carlyle Healthcare Center.

She was born on March 20th, 1908, in St. Rose, the daughter of George J. and Julianna Heldorfer Hoh, and they preceded her in death. On May 25th, 1927, in St. Rose, she married Frank Schrage, and he preceded her in death on November 4th, 1983.

Surviving are a daughter, Rita F. Billhartz of Belleville; 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; a sister, Eleanor Holtgrave of St. Rose, and a brother, Alfred Hoh of Decatur.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Charles Schrage; a daughter, Alice J. Zurliene; a grandson; a brother, Albert Hoh, and four sisters, Rose Rehkemper, Veronica Benhoff, Lena Hoh and Helen Buehne.

Mrs. Schrage was a member of St. Rose Parish and Altar Sodality, Daughters of Isabella Precious Blood Circle 718, St. Rose Senior Citizens and a former member of the St. Rose Development Club.

A funeral mass will be conducted on Friday, Jan. 16th, at 11 a.m. at St. Rose Church, with Rev. Ed Schaefer officiating.

Interment will follow in St. Rose Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Thursday, Jan. 15th, from 4 to 9 p.m. and on Friday, Jan. 16th, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Hempen Funeral Home in Breese.
