Clarence Restoff, 76

Clarence Restoff, 76, of Bartelso died Sunday, Sept. 7th, 2003, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Breese.

He was born on July 7th, 1927, in Scheller, the son of Frank and Victoria Majewski Restoff. They preceded him in death. On October 26th, 1954, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Bartelso, he married Dorothy Bergmann, and she survives in Bartelso.

Also surviving are two sons, Gary Restoff of Breese and Thomas Restoff of St. Louis, MO; two grandchildren; and two brothers, Stanley Restoff of New Minden and Ernie Restoff of Fairview Heights.

Clarence owned and operated Restoff's Market in Bartelso from 1956-1992.

He was a member of St. Cecilia Church where he served as Eucharistic Minister, Bartelso Knights of Columbus Council 4745, Bishop Althoff 4th Degree Assembly where he served as the past Faithful Comptroller, Catholic War Veterans Marion Post 1780-Bartelso and Bartelso American Legion Post 976.

Mr. Restoff was a Santa Fe Township Trustee since 1961 and served as an election judge. He also was a member of the Young at Heart ClubBartelso, Mater Dei School Board and Mater Dei Fathers and Friends.

He was a U.S. Army veteran having served during WWII.

Funeral services were conducted today, Wednesday, Sept. 10th, at 2 p.m. at St. Cecilia Church in Bartelso, with Fr. Henry Fischer officiating.

Interment was in St. Cecilia Cemetery in Bartelso.

Visitation was at Moss Funeral Home in Germantown.
