Lorena L. Rolves

Lorena L. Rolves, 83, of Carlyle, died Friday, January 11, 2008, at Carlyle Healthcare Center in Carlyle.

She was born on January 25, 1924, in Breese, a daughter of Gerhard H. and Bertha F. (Woltering) Poettker. She married Erwin Rolves on November 4, 1947, in Breese, and he preceded her in death on September 27, 2007.

She was a homemaker and stayed with the elderly in her later years. She was a member of St. Mary's Church and St. Anthony's Altar Sodality.

She is survived by a daughter, Elaine Feldmann of Grand Rapids, Mich.: seven sons, Roger Rolves of Carlyle, Mark Rolves and wife Rita of Centralia, Norbert Rolves and wife Mickie of Colorado Springs, Co., Ray Rolves and wife Sandy of Hiram, Ga., Gregg Rolves and wife Judy of Greenville, Bruce Rolves and wife Betty of Indianapolis and Karl Rolves and wife Jody of Carlyle; and 11 grandchildren. She is also survived by four sisters, Martha Kleffner of Waterloo, Lucille Krebs and husband Elmer of Carlyle, Lillian Strube and husband Charles of Marissa and Jane Kampwerth of Breese; two brothers, Marcellus Poettker and wife Rita of Aviston and Linus Poettker and wife Barb of Swansea; two sisters-in-law, Pauline Gerling of New Baden and Mary Ann Poettker of Flat Rock.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, David Rolves; a granddaughter, Kelly Feldmann; three sisters, Adelphia Reilmann and husband Bud, Ann Stanley and husband Bill and Clara Mae Thole and husband Ted: and three brothers, Ralph Poettker, Jim Poettker and Robert Poettker.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10 a.m. on Monday, January 14, 2008, at St. Mary's Church in Carlyle with Fr. George Mauck, officiating.

Burial followed at St. Mary's Cemetery.

Zieren Day Funeral Home in Carlyle handled the arrangements.
