Alma A. Schrage, 97

Alma A. Schrage, 97, of St. Rose died Wednesday, Feb. 26th, 2002, at Carlyle Healthcare Center in Carlyle.

She was born Nov. 26th, 1905, in St. Rose to Stephen and Anna Mary Poettker Goestenkors, both of whom preceded her in death. On Oct. 19th, 1927, at Immaculate Conception Church in Pierron, she married William H. "Bill" Schrage, and he died Sept. 16th, 1986.

Survivors include two sons, William F. Schrage of Greenville and Linus Schrage of Chicago; four daughters, Anna Jean Kampwerth of St. Rose, Patricia Vonder Haar of Greenville, Sr. Mary Jane Schrage ASC and Victoria Book, both of Belleville; 23 grandchildren and 55 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Martha Wolfersberger of Mascoutah.

Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents and her husband, were two sons, Dennis and Roger Schrage; five brothers, Frank, Vincent, William, Edward, and Albin Goestenkors; and two sisters, Alvina Goestenkors and Bertha Schulte.

Mrs. Schrage was a homemaker.

She was a member of St. Rose Church and Altar Sodality, St. Rose Development Club, Charter member of Mater Dei Foundation and Catholic Fraternal Life.

Her funeral Mass was held at St. Rose Catholic Church on Saturday, March 1st, 2003, at 11 a.m., with Fr. Edward Schaefer officiating. Interment was in St. Rose Cemetery.

Visitation was at Moss Funeral Home in Breese, who handled the arrangements.
