William L. Kinder, 80

William L. Kinder, 80, died at his home on Sunday, April 2nd, 2006.

Born May 14th, 1925, in Carlyle, he was the son of William and Mildred Kinder and they preceded him in death. He married Gloria Hanson-Dorn on May 22nd, 1987 and she survives.

Along with his wife, he is survived by three sons, William Kinder of Florida, Dana Kinder of Alger, Wash. And Randy Kinder of Bellingham, Wash.; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and Louise Ash-Kinder, his former wife.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Earl, David and Lyle Kinder.

He was a Navy Veteran of WW II, having served as a Pharmacist's Mate, First Class in the South Pacific aboard the USS LSM 427.

He graduated from Mesa College in Grand Junction, Colo. And after a short stint in teaching, he worked in sales for Montgomery Ward, moving to Bellingham, Wash. In the early 1950s. He worked for Montgomery Ward, Bellingham Hardware and retired from Sears. He loved life, friends family and especially loved a good laugh.

He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fly fishing and hunting various types of game. He was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans, VFW Post 1585, American Legion Post --7, Bellingham Elks Lodge --194, Moose Lodge --493, Eagles Club --31, the Bellingham Dixieland Jazz Club and the Soap Lake Businessman's Club, enjoying the dancing while vacationing there and the Central Lutheran Church.

A Memorial Service was held at the Central Lutheran Church, on Friday, April 7th, at 12 p.m. with Rev. Tim Whitman officiating.

Jerns Funeral Chapel and On-Site Crematorium in Bellingham handled the arrangements.
