Lucinda Landolt, 85

Former Breese librarian Mrs. Lucinda M. Landolt died at her home in Breese on Saturday, Sept. 18th, 1999. She was 85 years old.

A daughter of Torrence Harley, and Martha Blondena Clanton Tipsword, she was born in Bond county on Feb. 9th, 1914. She married Leo Landolt in St. Charles, Mo., on Oct. 17th, 1937. He died Nov. 15th, 1990.

Survivors include one son, Ed L. Landolt of Breese; two daughters, Mrs. Julie Schroeder of rural Richview and Mrs. Linda Juneau of Rolla, Mo.; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Julius Tipsword of Grantfork and Thomas Tipsword of Old Ripley and two sisters, Mrs. Bernice Towell of Sorento and Ms. Shirley Tipsword of Old Ripley.

Mrs. Landolt had taught school for 11 years in Breese, Ramsey and Mulberry Grove. She was a member of the Fern Chapter Order of the Eastern Star of Sorento and National Educators Association and Illinois Teachers Association.

Services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 20th, at Donnell-Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville with burial following in Brown cemetery near Old Ripley.
