Helen E. Huels, 82

Helen E. Huels, 82, of Bartelso died Tuesday, Jan. 10th, 2006 at St. Joseph Hospital in Breese.

Mrs. Huels was born on October 16th, 1923, in Beckemeyer, the daughter of Martin and Louise Isaak Holtgrave. She married Carl J. Huels on June 8th, 1948, in Beckemeyer, and he survives in Bartelso.

Survivors include two sons, Carl Huels Jr. of Bartelso and Marcel Huels of California, Mo.; five daughters, Mary Jane Richter of Breese, Ruth Jansen of Albers, Carleen Carrillon-Haselhorst of Carlyle, Louise Strieker of Bartelso, and Karen Gerdes of Bartelso; 22 grandchildren; four step grandchildren; and five great-granddaughters.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Gary Carrillon; three brothers, Paul, Walter and Marcel Holtgrave.

She was a member of St. Cecilia Church in Bartelso and the St. Cecilia Ladies Sodality, Catholic Fraternal Life Council --85, Beckemeyer and the Young at Heart Club. One of Mrs. Huels' favorite pastimes was playing cards.

A Mass of resurrection will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 13th, at St. Cecelia's Church with Fr. Henry J. Fischer officiating.

Interment will follow at St. Cecilia's Cemetery, Bartelso.

Visitation is at Zieren Day Funeral Home in Carlyle Thursday, Jan. 12th, from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Friday, Jan. 13th from 8 a.m. until 10:15 a.m.
