Rita A. Netemeyer, 79, of Albers, died Sunday, April, 27 2008, at her home.

She was born April 3, 1929, in St. Rose, the daughter of Gerhard and Emelia (Holtgrave) Schumacher. She married Clarence J. Netemeyer September 14, 1949, in St. Rose, and he preceded her in death January 14, 1987.

She is survived by three sons, Mark Netemeyer and wife Roxanne of Shawnee, Kan., Bob Netemeyer and wife Melissa of Albers and Edward Netemeyer and wife JoAnn of Albers; two daughters, Kathleen Cronin and husband Jerry of St. Louis, Mo. and. Cindy Wiegmann and husband Mark of Albers; three sisters, Elizabeth Ketterer of Beaver Prairie, Mary Esther Straeter of St. Rose and Sister Aloysia Schumacher, ASC of Ruma; 11 grandchildren, Jeremiah Cronin and wife Michele, Christopher Cronin, Karl Netemeyer, Matt Netemeyer, Karen Schroeder and husband Nicholas, Lauren Netemeyer, Jason Sobieralski, Jon Sobieralski, Kelsie Netemeyer, Kolin Netemeyer and Hunter Wiegmann; three great-grandchildren, Caitlyn Cronin, Landon Schroeder and Aidan Sobieralski; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Lidwina Schumacher of St. Rose, Esther and Don Koch of Breese, Cletus and Monica Netemeyer of Bartelso, Marcella Netemeyer of St. Louis, Mo., and Marcia Netemeyer of Breese.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Edwin Schumacher, Clarence Schumacher and James Schumacher; and one sister, Dolores Kalous; sister-in-law, Helen Schumacher; brothers-in-law, Cletus Ketterer, Victor Straeter, Bill Kalous, Matt Netemeyer and Harold Netemeyer.

She was a homemaker and a member of St. Bernard Parish and Ladies Sodality and was a PSR religion teacher. She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and also volunteered at the Aviston Countryside Manor. She loved to play cards and bingo.

A funeral mass of Christian Burial was held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April, 30, at St. Bernard Church in Albers with Msgr. Donald Eichenseer officiating.

Burial followed in St. Bernard Cemetery, Albers.

Hempen Funeral Home in Albers handled the arrangements.
