Breese resident Alfred V. Woltering died Friday, Nov. 17th, 1995, at Countryside Manor in Aviston. He was 75 years old.

Born in St. Rose township on March 27th, 1920, he was a son of Bernard and Anna Wessel Woltering. On Oct. 24th, 1945, in St. Rose, he married Rose Poettker. She died Jan.29th, 1993.

Survivors include two sons, Ronald Woltering of Centralia and Richard Woltering of Breese; one grandson; three sisters, Mrs. Julie Becker and Mrs. Veronica Timmermann, both of Breese, and Mrs. Joan Neff of Germantown.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mrs. Laura Schuette and Sister Mary Myles, SSND; and one brother, Charles Woltering.

Mr. Woltering was a retired farmer. He was a member of St. Augustine’s Church in Breese, Men’s Sodality of the church, Breese Knights of Columbus, Catholic Knights and Ladies of Illinois, and Clinton County Farm Bureau.

He also served as director for 16 years of Clinton County Electric Coop. and for six years as director of Breese township.

Rev. Melvin Haas officiated at services held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21st, at St. Augustine’s Church. Burial was in St. Dominic’s cemetery in Breese.
