Life-long Carlyle resident Mrs. Pauline “Pat” Tappin, 76, died at her home Friday, June 23.
A daughter of William and Mary Hilmes Kueper, she was born in Carlyle on Nov. 21, 1912. She married John A. “Jack” Tappin in St. Louis on June 27, 1940. He died April 4, 1983.
Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Rosemary Hodapp and Ms. Helen Kueper, both of Carlyle, and Mrs. Catherine McGrane of Little Falls, N.J.
Mr. and Mrs. Tappin had operated Tappin Store in Carlyle. She was a retired clerk at the Will-Mary Shoppe in Carlyle.
Rev. Victor Sulkowski officiated at services held Monday, June 26, at St. Mary’s Church in Carlyle. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Visitation was at the Frerker Funeral Home in Carlyle.
