Life-long Trenton resident Mrs. Alvin (Lorene J.) Hohrein died May 15th, 1996, at Emerald Garden Healthcare Center in Lebanon. She was 78 years old.

Born near Trenton on Nov. 2nd, 1917, she was a daughter of Elmer and Clara Orschell Beutler. On Oct. 18th, 1939, in Trenton, she married Alvin Hohrein, and he survives.

Additional survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Linda Spanley of St. Louis; one son, Donald Hohrein of Trenton; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Elmer Beutler of Lebanon and four sisters, Mrs. Kathryn Sewald of New Baden, Mrs. Marjorie Kruep and Mrs. Delores Benhoff, both of Fairview Heights, and Mrs. Elva Benhoff of Belleville.

A member of St. Mary’s Church in Trenton, her funeral was held there at 1 p.m. Monday, May 20th. The Rev. Father Robert Flannery officiated with burial in the church cemetery.

The Moss Funeral Home in Trenton was in charge of arrangements.
