Walter G. Elam, a Keyesport Route One resident, died at Utlaut Memorial Hospital in Greenville on May 14th, 1996. He was 95 years old.

A son of John and Natallie Ruth Edwards Elam, he was born in Pleasant Mound township on Aug. 16th, 1900. On Dec. 26th, 1925, he married Helen A. Miller. She died Dec. 10th, 1987.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Norma Jean Willeford of Old Ripley and Mrs. Duane Apple of rural Keyesport; one son, John W. Elam of rural Keyesport nine grandchildren and 19great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Ira Tucumcari of New Mexico.

Mr. Elam was a retired farmer. He was a 50 years member of the Sherwood and Masonic Lodge. He had served on the boards of the Bond County Service Co., Bond County Health Dept. , Utlaut Memorial Hospital, Bond County Soil Conservation, and Pleasant Grove School board.

Rev. Elmer Fenton and Rev. Tom Hoffmann officiated at services held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 17th at the Donnell-Wiegand Funeral Home in Greenville. Burial was in Noffsinger cemetery.
