A lifelong Breese resident, Mrs. Dora C. Eilering, died Sunday, April 17, after a two week illness. She was 78 years old.

She was born at Breese Sept. 18, 1889, a daughter of John and Caroline Poelker Johnson. She and Martin Eilering were married Dec. 31, 1918, at Damiansville. He is deceased.

Surviving Mrs. Eilering are six daughters, Mrs. Martha Essenpries, Mrs. Cyrilla Essenpries and Mrs. Lorene Huelskamp, all of Breese, Mrs. Evelyn Pokoen of Winthrop, Me., Mrs. Dorothy Trame of Mattoon and Mrs. Emily Cortese of Waterbury, Conn.; a brother, George Johnson of Breese; three sisters, Mrs. Caroline Athmer of Chester, and Mrs. Dorothy Toeben and Mrs. Elizabeth Huelskamp, both of Breese; 34 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.

Services for Mrs. Eilering were held at 2:00 p.m. today (Wednesday) at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church in Breese. Father Vincent Haselhorst officiated. Burial was in St. Dominic’s cemetery.

Visitation was at the Moss Funeral Home in Breese.
