Michael Meissner, former owner of Meissner Brothers, Inc., in Breese died at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese on Aug. 23rd, 2000, at the age of 61 years.
Born in Breese on Feb. 27th, 1939, he was a son of Richard and Nora Reagan Meissner, and his father survives.
Additional survivors include two sons, Stephen Meissner of Carlyle and Chris Meissner of Troy; two daughters, Mrs. Lisa Cosenza of Carol Stream and Mrs. Dina Pinkerton of Wildwood, Mo. and six grandchildren.
Mr. Meissner was a salesman for Mars Equipment in Centralia. He was president of the Park Board, vice-commander of American Legion and member of the Knights of Columbus, all of Breese.
He also was a retired Volunteer Fireman, past president of the Lions Club and past member of the Optimist Club also all of Breese.
Services were held at St. Dominic’s Church in Breese at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug 26th, with Rev. Patrick Peter officiating. Burial was in St. Dominic-St. Augustine cemetery in Breese.
The Moss Funeral Home in Breese was in charge of arrangements.
