THEO. HUELSMANN WELL KNOWN FARMER DIES IN ST. ROSE

Theodore Huelsmann well known and highly respected farmer of St. Rose, who had lived on the same farm for 56 years, or since his marriage, died at his home last Saturday, aged 79 years and 3 months.

Funeral services were held last Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock at the St. Rose Catholic church. Trustees of the St. Rose church acted as pallbearers, Mr. Huelsmann having served in that capacity for more than 35 years and until his death. They were Hy Rehkemper, Frank Fischer, Aug. Henrichs, August Vonderhaar and Frank Holtgrave. To make up the six Frank Schrage took the place of the deceased trustee. Interment was in the St. Rose cemetery.

Mr. Huelsmann was born in Breese November 10, 1854, and had practically resided in the vicinity where he was born his entire life. He was a son of Bernard and Catherine Huelsmann, nee Wieter. He was united in marriage February 26, 1878, with Miss Anna Richter of Breese at the St. Dominic church in Breese. After their marriage they took up their residence on the farm in St. Rose, where he died, and if he had lived until February 26 next, would have been 56 years. Seven children were born to the union, four preceding their father in death. Ben died at three years of age; William when three months old; August when 14 days, and Anton died October 20, 1930, aged 44 years. The children, who with the widow survive, are John and Dix Huelsmann of St. Rose, and Henry Huelsmann, north of Carlyle. There also survive a sister, Mrs. Fred Heimann, St. Louis, and two half-brothers, August Lager, Breese and Dix Lager, Aviston; 19 grandchildren. One grandchild died at the age of six years, preceding the grandfather in death nine months. There are also nine great-grandchildren.

Mr. Huelsmann was a member of the St. Joseph's Men's Sodality. Six years ago he and his wife celebrated their golden wedding. Mr. Huelsmann was one of the honest and hardworking farmers of St. Rose and it is indeed with great sorrow that his passing away be chronicled. The Union Banner joins everyone in extending sincere sympathy to the bereaved.
