The funeral of life-long Bartelso resident Mrs. Cecilia A. Koopmann will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 11, at St. Cecilia’s Church in Bartelso. Rev. Chuck Tuttle will officiate with burial in St. Boniface cemetery in Germantown.

Mrs. Koopmann died Monday, Feb. 8th, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese. She was 82 years old.

Born in Bartelso on Aug. 1, 1905, Mrs. Koopmann was a daughter of John and Caroline Roberg Varel. She married Herman Koopmann in Bartelso on Sept. 7, 1926. He died July 12, 1965.

Survivors include four sons, Alois and Edwin Koopmann, both of Bartelso, and Roman “Butch” Koopmann and Andrew “Pete” Koopmann, both of Belleville; two daughters, Mrs. Helen Gebke and Mrs. Blanche Vandeloo, both of Bartelso; 16 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; one brother, Edward “Red” Varel of Bartelso and one sister, Mrs. Frances Koopmann, also of Bartelso.

Mrs. Koopmann was a member of St. Cecilia’s Altar Sodality and Germantown American Legion Auxiliary.

Visitation will be at the Moss Funeral Home in Germantown after 2:00 p.m. today (Wednesday).
