The funeral of Carlyle resident Bernard “Ben” Fehlker, 87, was held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, Feb. 8th, at St. Mary’s Church in Carlyle. Rev. Victor Sulkowski officiated with burial in the church cemetery.

Mr. Fehlker died Saturday, Feb. 6, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese.

Born near Carlyle on Aug. 6, 1900, he was a son of Herman and Mary Lammers Fehlker. He married Florence Maibaum in Beckemeyer on Feb. 1, 1928, and she survives.

Others survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Norbert Kampwerth of Carlyle Rt. Three; four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Mr. Fehlker was preceded in death by one grandson, Alan Kampwerth, and one sister, Anna Voss.

A retired farmer, he was a member of the Clinton County Farm Bureau and St. Mary’s Church.

Visitation was at the Zieren-Day Funeral Home in Carlyle.
