Herman Pingsterhaus, 94, of rural route 1, Germantown, died at 2 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, 1979, at St. Joseph’s Clinton County Hospital after an illness of four weeks.

Mr. Pingsterhaus was born Nov. 11, 1884, in Germantown, to William and Mary Kueter Pingsterhaus and married Anna Schleper April 21, 1915 at St. Dominic Church in Breese. She died Nov. 20, 1976.

He is a member of the St. Boniface Men’s Sodality, the Knights of Columbus Council #2869 and the Clinton County Farm Bureau. A retired farmer Pingsterhaus received his education at Lindengrove Country School in Germantown.

Survivors include daughters Mrs. Catherine Jansen, of Albers, Ms. Marie Spihlmann, Mrs. Christine Beckmann and son Victor, all of Germantown; sister Mary Varel of Bartelso; 18 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday from St. Boniface Church in Germantown with burial following at the St. Boniface Cemetery. Arrangements were handled by Moss Funeral Home and visitation was held at the Moss Funeral Home in Germantown Friday, Feb. 10.

Pallbearers were grandsons Virgil and James Jansen, Mike Pingsterhaus, Alfred Spihlmann and David and Gary Beckmann.
