Mrs. Sophie B. Santel, 69, of Albers, died Friday, Feb. 9 at her home.

Born in Germantown Township, she was the daughter of Theodore and Wilhemina (Diesel) Heidemann.

Preceding her in death were her husband, William Santel, and her son, Erwin (Tubby) Santel.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Virginia (Sis) Thuenemann of Albers; a brother, Henry Heidemann of St. Louis; two sisters, Verena Pointer of Granite City and Katie Wildhaber of Germantown; and three grandchildren, Brenda, Wayne and Pam Thuenemann all of Albers.

Funeral services were held at the Hempen Funeral Home in Albers with Father Edward Reeb officiating. Burial was in St. Bernard Cemetery in Albers.
