Mrs. Elizabeth Schulte, aged 85 years, widow of the late Herman Schulte, died at 9:30 o’clock Friday night in the St. Mary’s Home for the Aged in Carlyle. Interment was in the church cemetery.
The subject of this sketch was born in St. Louis, and was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Borgelt. She had been a resident of this county for about 75 years, and most of this time lived in Wade and Irishtown townships. Those surviving are three sons, Bernard, and Henry of St. Louis; and Joseph Schulte, under treatment in a hospital; also two sisters, Mrs. Catherine Wilken, St. Louis; and Mrs. John Roettering, of Breese. For many years the family resided on a farm west of the Crocker place on the old state road.
