Eighty-eight-year-old Breese resident Gertrude H. Langhauser died at Caring First Nursing Home in Breese on Friday, Jan. 23rd, 1998.

Born in Santa Fe Township on Dec. 10th, 1909, Mrs. Langhauser was a daughter of Henry D. and Barbara Foches Kampwerth. On April 18th, 1934, in Beckemeyer, she married Leo Langhauser, and he survives.

Other survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Barbara Richter of Breese; three sons, Leon Langhauser of Decatur, Ralph Langhauser of Breese, and Joseph Langhauser of Germantown; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Anna Kauling of Beckemeyer.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Mark and Dwight Langhauser; two brothers, Herman and Alphonse Kampwerth; and three sisters, Sister Henrice Kampwerth and Sister Clarisita Kampwerth, PHJC, and Agnes Langhauser.

Mrs. Langhauser was a member of St. Anthony’s church in Beckemeyer, Altar Sodality of the church, Daughters of Isabella, and St. Joseph’s Hospital Auxiliary.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 26th, at St. Anthony’s with Rev Richard Weidert officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

The Moss Funeral Home in Breese was in charge of arrangements.
