The funeral of Aviston resident Gerhard M. Peek was held Tuesday, Aug. 14, at 3:00 p.m. at St. Francis Church in Aviston, Rev. Robert Gore officiated with burial in the church cemetery.

Mr. Peek died Sunday, Aug. 12, at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis. He was 70 years old.

Born in Breese Township on May 4, 1920, he was a son of John and Theresa Kampwerth Peek. On June 28, 1949, he married Arlene Schrage in St. Rose, and she survives.

In addition to his widow, survivors include three sons, Dale, Gary and Kevin Peek, all of Aviston; three daughters, Mrs. Sandy Stobl of Belleville, Mrs. Debbie Buehne of St. Rose and Mrs. Katie Kaiser of Ft. Worth, Tex.; eight grandchildren; three brothers, Cyril and John Peek, both of Aviston, and Henry Peek of Breese; and one sister, Sister Thersta Peek SFND of Ripa, Mo. Mr. Peek was preceded in death by a daughter Darlene and son Glen.

Mr. Peek was a retired farmer and civil service clerk at Scott Air Force Base. He was a member of the Aviston American Legion and Clinton County Farm Bureau.

Visitation was at the Moss Funeral Home in Breese.
