John Peters, 80

Retired farmer John H. Peters, 80, of New Baden died Monday, Nov. 14, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Breese.

He was born in Germantown on Aug. 16, 1903, the son of George and Katherine Winkeler Peters. He married Elizabeth Richter in Breese on May 31, 1933. She preceded him in death on July 24, 1983.

He is survived by four sons, Paul, Jerome, Richard and Norbert Peters, all of New Baden; one daughter, Florence Peters of Centralia; and five grandchildren.

Mr. Peters was a member of the Clinton County Farm Bureau and St. George Church of New Baden.

His funeral will be held Thursday, Nov. 17, at 10:00 a.m. at St. George Church. Rev. Albert Kreher will officiate with burial in St. Boniface cemetery in Germantown.

Visitation will be at the Hempen Funeral Home in New Baden after 4:00 p.m. today (Wednesday)
