Henry G. Otke Passes Away in Local Hospital Wed.

Henry G. Otke died at 4 o'clock last Wednesday afternoon in the local St. Joseph's hospital at the age of 42 years, 10 months and 24 days. The cause of his death was a complication of diseases. The deceased had been ailing for the past six weeks and three weeks before death was taken to the local St. Joseph's hospital. An operation was performed one week later, but did not show any improvement, instead, he grew steadily weaker until death claimed him.

The deceased was born on a farm one mile north of Breese, the son of Casimere and Anna Otke, nee Richter. He attended St. Dominic's school and thereafter spent the remaining years of his life working about the farm.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his mother, 2 brothers, John and George, and one sister, Rose, who is employed in St. Louis. His father preceded him in death two years ago.

Deceased was a kind neighbor to all, and was a very ambitious young man, having helped his parents with farm work ever since his boyhood days. He was a devout catholic, attended church services regularly and was very well liked by all who knew him.

Funeral services were held from the local St. Dominic's church Friday morning at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Msgr. Kaup, pastor, officiating. Burial took place in the St. Dominic cemetery.

The pallbearers were: August Jansen, Ralph Ratermann, Melvin Schroeder, Victor Deiters, Harold Kapp and Joseph Deiters.

We extend our sympathy to the bereaved family.
