Lillian A. Edwards, 87, of Shattuc, died on Tuesday, August 14, 2007, at St. Mary's Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon.

Born December 2, 1919, in Clinton County, she was the daughter of Charles and Edna (Hoffman) Curdt. She married Abram "Abe" R. Edwards on August 24, 1940 in St. Charles, Mo. and he preceded her in death on September 29, 1987.

She is survived by one son, Glen (Marilyn) Edwards of Shattuc; grandsons Alan (Debi) Edwards of Nashville, Ill., Jason Edwards and Brian (Michelle) Edwards, all of Carlyle; and three great grandchildren.

Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.

Mrs. Edwards lived her entire life in rural Clinton County. She was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Ferrin. She was a homemaker and mother, and also worked at the Carlyle Shoe Factory for several years. She was a member of the Clinton County Home Extension. She enjoyed spending time with her family and visiting friends and watching Cardinal baseball.

Visitation will be conducted today (Wednesday) August 15, 2007 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Day Funeral Home in Sandoval, and on Thursday from 8:30 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Ferrin.

The funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, August 16, 2007, at 10 a.m. from the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Ferrin, Illinois. Pastor Ryan Willis will officiate the funeral service and burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in rural Centralia.

Day Funeral Home in Sandoval is serving the family.
