The Illinois Soldiers' and Sailors' Home at Quincy has been serving veterans since 1886. It is still in operation and is now known as the Illinois Veterans Home at Quincy (external link). Another website, Illinois Veterans' Home (external link), gives a brief History and Facility Description.
