A small plat book for Clinton County, Illinois was published without a date anywhere in the book. The Library of Congress online catalog, Call Number G1433.C7 W2 1930, calls this booklet “1937 (?)”. If you know that some one in this book that bought or sold property that can further pinpoint the time period of this booklet, please let us know. The 8 ½” x 11” booklet has none of the frills that the large plat books contain.
Names were transcribed as close to the spelling on the plats as possible. Each parcel was entered as a separate line entry. If there was an obvious spelling error, we left it that way. If the parcel of land was so small that only the initials of the owner were given, such as A. J. B., they were listed as last initial first, such as B., A. J.
