PROCLAMATION

TO THE PEOPLE OF THE COMMUNITY OF AVISTON:

The Centennial Anniversary of the organized beginnings of the Village of Aviston seems to demand an exceptional observance.

The founders of the village, at its birth and in its feebleness, invoked the blessings and the protection of Divine Providence. A small settlement and community has expanded into a community of strength and numbers, commanding the position which then was anticipated and for which fervent prayers were then offered.

It seems fitting that on the 100th anniversary of our existence as a community, a grateful acknowledgement should be made to Almighty God for the protection and the bounties which lie has given to our beloved community.

I therefore invite the good people of the Aviston community, on the approaching 13th and 14th days of June, 1964, to mark the recurrence of the founding of this community, by some public and devout thanks-giving to Almighty God for the blessings which have been bestowed upon us as a community during the century of our existence, and humbly to invoke a continuance of His favor and of His protection.

In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Village of Aviston to be affixed.
