Henken, John Bernard, Reverend301 viewsTombstone for Reverend John Bernard Henken (1870-1951), a Catholic Priest. He was born in September of 1870 according to the 1900 US Census. The tombstone does show his birth year of 1870, his ordination year of 1895, and his year of death, 1951. There are 4 small tombstone markers surrounding his large tombstone marker. They say, "Mother", "Father", "Rev. John B.", and "Nikolaus". There is no other writing on them. One represents himself, one is for his brother, Nikolaus (born Apr 1886), one for his mother Mary H. Henken nee Pollmann (22 Aug 1847-27 Aug 1912), and one for his father, John B. Henken, Sr. (10 Aug 1837-07 Jul 1918). These markers are located in St. Mary's Cemetery in Carlyle, Illinois, Row 12, #40 Section I. Photos taken by Richard T. Warnecke.
