The boys and a sister, Anna Maria (married Hugo Naegele of New Baden IL) were orphaned and raised by other family members. The sons eventually relocated to Henry County MO with other family, where Otto and Charles had their name changed spelling to HARBSTREET at some point in time. Louis retained the HERBSTREITH spelling of his name. Most members of the Harbstreet family line and subsequent generations are buried in Morris Cemetery in Henry County MO. The Naegele's remained in the New Baden area.
