To find Clark Cemetery, go north on Boulder Road from US Route 50. Go through the town of Boulder, past the Methodist Church, past the curve in the road, past the Fire Department and then a short block past the Belleville Boat Club, there is a sign up high on the left that says Clark Cemetery. This turn-off is 3/10th of a mile past the curve in the road at Boulder. It's about 7/10th of a mile before the road to the Pritchett Cemetery.
Row numbers and stone numbers begin at the back right hand corner. The stone number only represents the sequence in stones just to assist the researcher to find the stone easier. It does not represent lot numbers and will change when new headstones are installed. Row 9 begins on the east side of the driveway, Rows 11 and 12 are empty at this time.
This cemetery is just a short distance from Carlyle Lake, there are trailers and campers surrounding it on 3 sides. It was high enough that it was not affected during the construction of the Lake. The wind has blown briskly on both days that we've been there. The history of the cemetery can be found in the Clinton County Historical Society Quarterly # 20-2, Page 71.
Someone has repaired stones that were broken and/or fallen when we initially read the stones in December 2003. If someone knows who has the books for this cemetery and can glean additional names and/or dates, we will be delighted to add them to this listing.
S/w means shares stone with. GHS means government head stone, PHS means private head stone. Living means the name has been withdrawn in case that person is still living, married and children means the date of the marriage and the name of the children that were on the tombstone have also been held back, send email for that info if needed. All stones are in English.
