The Gordons are a family of physicians. Madison D. Gordon, the son by the second marriage of James Gordon, is also studying for the profession, and has completed his first course in the St. Louis Medical College. With the admission of Madison to the profession there will be eight of the family, including the father, who are physicians. All are graduates of the St. Louis Medical College, except the father and the second son, James. B., who graduated at the Memphis Medical College in Tennessee.

Dr. J. T. Gordon has been very successful in his practice in Carlyle and vicinity, and stands at the head of the profession in Clinton county. He is a liberal-minded man, possessing broad views, and a thorough gentleman. He belongs to the progressive school of medicine, and is well posted in all the discoveries that are daily being made in the science of medicine.
