Hello! My Great-Great-Grandfather committed suicide in Clinton County in 1877. I have that record.

My question is this: How were suicides handled in that year? Newspaper article, burial place, as he was a catholic and do believe that the Catholic church frowned on this> So the reason for the question. Hope that someone can find an answer for this. It would be greatly appreciated.
