Were Washington Co. death certificates before 1916 recorded by the Clinton Co Clerk? I just read this on FamilySearch. I've been unable to find my great grandfather's 1910 death cert at the Washington Co Courthouse and now wonder if it could be found at the Clinton County Courthouse?

No, Washington County would have any records from this time if they exist. Death certificates were not required by law in Illinois until 1916. Some counties have death records prior to this time; however, Washington County would have any records from 1910, not Clinton County.
